What We Think What 10/10 Games Should Have
All animals have to be pet—that is non-negotiable.

There are good games, great games, and then there those that deserve a perfect 10/10—cue PewdiePie’s voice.
So, what sets these exceptional games apart? Is it the graphics? Maybe groundbreaking mechanics? Or maybe the storyline? Well, the answer is both yes and no. What truly makes a game legendary is the little things—the features that players may not explicitly ask for but truly appreciate.

If a game has animals, I better be able to pet them all. Dogs? Pettable. Cats? Absolutely. Horses? Give ‘em a good rub. Even the terrifying, world-ending beast should at least let me pat its head before it absolutely consumes my soul. If I can’t interact with the critters, what’s the point? Developers, take notes—a petting mechanic is non-negotiable and the community shares this mindset!
Physics that makes sense

Water should splash when you shoot it. Tires should gradually deflate, not just pop like a balloon. Wooden doors should NOT be stronger than a rocket launcher. And for the love of immersion, let swings actually swing. At the same time, though, every 10/10 game needs at least one completely broken physics interaction that doesn’t break the game.
If you know what’s up with the image above, I salute you.
Interesting NPCs that can go off-script

We’ve all done it—completely ignoring the tutorial NPC to see how far we can go before the game forces us back. But if a game truly respects MY CHOICES, the NPC should at least acknowledge my stubbornness. If I wander off mid-explanation, I expect them to sigh and say, “Yeah, no, go ahead. You clearly don’t need me.” Bonus points if they start speed-running their dialogue because they know I’m not listening. Something sassy is appreciated.
Goofy feature that everyone loves but is completely useless

Every perfect game has one completely unnecessary mechanic that somehow becomes iconic. Think of something like Skyrim’s bucket-over-the-NPC’s-head (my absolute favorite) trick.. These are the features that become memes, that people reference for years, and that truly make a game memorable. If your game is missing this, sorry—it’s only a 9/10 at best.
So what does this list prove? Although it may be a thought piece, it shows that gaming perfection isn’t about ultra-realistic graphics or endless content. It’s about the small things that make a game feel alive; something that players can naturally uncover and understand.
