I came so close to buying a television for my bedroom. I wanted my own so I could binge-watch my favorite shows without taking over the living room, but my budget just wouldn’t allow it. TVs can be pricey, especially if you’re eyeing a decent size and smart features. So, I paused my plans… until I came across something that completely changed the game: the Yundoo HY300 4K Mini Projector.
Cheaper than a TV, but still an experience that feels big screen
The Yundoo HY300, compared to the TV I had initially considered buying, was significantly cheaper in terms of budget. What’s great is that I could still enjoy it. Sure, it’s not as vivid and premium as an expensive flagship smart TV with all the added features. But for its price? It gets the job done. The joy of the projector is that it provides a much larger screen. Watching my favorite show on Netflix and endlessly browsing YouTube—is there anything more satisfying? With the lights dimmed, it feels like a mini movie experience.
It's a smart projector, so streaming is easy
Its best feature? It’s a smart projector, so there’s no need to invest in another device to get streaming. It comes with Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, and other popular apps pre-installed, so you can set up all of this with just a touch of your fingers. However, if you’re like me and prefer flexibility, you can also add more apps from Google Play, such as Bilibili and Spotify. Screencast and HDMI input options are still available for those who need them, but you don’t have to rely on them as much, as the built-in smart OS handles everything.
A few quirks, but with a fix
Navigation with the included remote wasn’t the smoothest. There’s some lag, and navigating around doesn’t feel as responsive as I would like. But here’s a tip: plug in a regular USB mouse. It worked well, making the entire interface feel more fluid and manageable. The projector also features built-in WiFi and Bluetooth, allowing you to connect external devices, accessories, or audio gear.
How’s the sound?
The truth is, the Yundoo HY300 may have a built-in speaker, but it won’t fill a room with cinema-quality audio. It’s enough for everyday use, but if you want to enjoy an experience or film properly, you’ll need a separate speaker. (And you’ll want to do that soon because the sound isn’t very good.) Fortunately, you can find an incredible variety of smart speakers at our Next Upgrade Shop. We have everything from high-quality portable Bluetooth speakers to full-on surround sound systems. We’ve got something for everyone, and when you hear all these sounds, you’ll thank us!
So, is it a good buy?
If you’re on a tight budget but still want a cozy home theater vibe, the Yundoo HY300 4K Mini Projector is a solid option. It’s not perfect, but it offers great value for the price. It turned my bedroom into a personal streaming sanctuary without breaking the bank—and that’s a win for me! This smart projector is available at the Next Upgrade Shop!
